First the wind, then
The shaking, followed by
Falling petals that marred
Nature’s idyllic perfection.
Unmendable…
Blasted apart my soul that saw
Sown seeds grow to flowers
That bloomed only a handful
Of days then
Windblown…
Dream no more of home
Those bud-clasped petals that once
Held secure the fragrant,
Clustered blossoms.
I turn, look around and
See loneliness embrace
Despair in the Valley of Oblivion
Where the Grim Reaper
Wins over falling petals.
.
Mend them!
Begin again!
I cried and begged heaven’s
Gentle breeze to replay
The season.
The Killer Wind laughed at me
And derided a sucker for romance.
.
Ribbon the wind!
Squeeze your pen!
Or better yet
Try another theme!
There is more hope in
Wistful thinking
Than mending petals
Fallen.
