(for Bing L., Chat A., and Persy So)

Fade, fade sunlight

Trim the morning light

Let sunset welcome scenes

of peaceful sleep

Near to my Savior’s gentle breast

Will I lie down and safely rest.

Farewell, temporal earthly joy

My soul can never be tempted away

Farewell, worldly things of clay

Born briefly in one day

Its fancy colors turning gray.

Superior is my Savior’s gracious smile

My satisfied soul hidden

in Thy holy place

Beneath Thy eternal glory

Would rest sweetly still

When I shall meet Thee

face to face.
