Alas, our star was born a little late!
(or are we the latecomers in this show?)
though we behold the sparkle of its light
from a distance where we looked up the sky
we find instead our new moon smile
with utmost delight in the freshness of a dream
that we begin to share.

Soon, full moon’s splendor comes to fill
the soul with earthly freight and pleasure…
when I shall eagerly await the unveiling
of its poetry of songs with artistry far
deeper than all the previous lessons
learned in life…

Tomorrow is another day, the dimming embers
of night vanish into the light of a common day…
But I shall vividly remember the velvet
tenderness of the moonlight
with its magical touch which had struck
our human heart in an uncommon joy
too deep for friendship that we could
only consummate with steadfast hearts
and purity of mind.

Let nothing disturb this cheerful fate
we discovered!
No, not even our lifestar which denied
us its first light.
