Poem for a Desert Rose
To a desert flower
that knew no rain
suffer not yourself
to perish but quietly
bloom and blossom,
spread forth your grace
and fill the earth with
your delicate scent.
.
The sun gazes down on you
the moon covers you with dew
the earth is bewitched
by your quiet charm
and the desert appreciates
your soft fragrance
.
O desert flower
so timid and rare
Go! Â Spread forth
your grace now,
for the short moment’s
unfolding is a blooming
of a lifetime’s forever…
